Why the combination is uncommon

Supplier-diversity and supplier-quality teams often shop from different lists. Many SBA-certified SDVOSB suppliers run without an aerospace quality system, and the AS9100 shops your quality group already trusts seldom count toward veteran-owned goals. Finding both credentials in one shop — plus the machining to back them — usually means a long search or a split award.

For a small shop, AS9100D registration is a real commitment: an accredited third-party audit, annual surveillance audits, internal audits, and a quality system that has to hold on every order, not just the audited ones. Your subcontracting plan earns SDVOSB credit only for suppliers the SBA has actually certified — the FAR 52.219-9 change effective December 22, 2024 ended credit for self-represented firms. For aerospace buyers and supplier quality

The quality clauses on an aerospace or defense PO assume a supplier running an aerospace-grade quality management system. Ours is certified to AS9100D, which requires — and our registrar audits — the controls that matter most on flight and defense hardware:

• Counterfeit-part prevention, with material and lot traceability
• Control of outside processors such as finishers, with your requirements flowed down
• First-article and production process verification, including key characteristics

The paperwork follows your PO: first-article inspection, certificates of conformance, and lot traceability are part of our aerospace and defense work, and when your PO flows down a specific first-article format such as AS9102, that’s the format we document to. Send your PO quality clauses with the RFQ and we’ll confirm any program-specific requirements up front.

One distinction your auditors will care about: AS9100D certifies how we run the shop, not any individual part. Every part is still accepted against your drawing and PO requirements, with the inspection records to show for it. A scope that includes engineering and assembly

Our scope of registration reads “Engineering Services & CNC Machining, Fabrication and Assembly Services.” As a licensed engineering firm, that means engineering support and assembly run under the same certified system as the machining — useful when a package includes design input or more than loose parts.

   Send your supplier package

   Supplier survey, quality questionnaire, or portal invitation — send it through our contact page or straight to the supplier contact above. We complete it and send it back with supporting documents.

2. 02

   Get the documents your file needs

   Copies of our AS9100D & ISO 9001:2015 certificate and our SBA certification letters are available on request, along with vendor data and our capability statement.

3. 03

   Qualify on a live part

   Send a drawing or STEP file for a real requirement. A first article or pilot lot lets your quality team review our inspection records and certificate of conformance before volume work.

4. 04

   Report the spend

   Once POs flow, spend with us is reportable toward your SDVOSB and VOSB goals. We’ll confirm our UEI and certification status whenever your reporting cycle calls for it.
